The GameDev.tv forum provides functionality to change your username, however, if you change your username, all prior quotes and @name mentions will be broken.
It is only possible to change your username within 3 days of registering your GameDev.tv forum account. If you wish to change your username after this point please contact one of the Administrators or Moderators, the decision to change your username will be based on your activity and the impact it will have.
Updating your username;

Click on your profile picture, located at the top of the screen

The user menu will be displayed

Click on the preferences icon

Once the preferences page has loaded, click on the edit icon next to your existing username

Enter your desired new username
Note: Your desired username will be unavailable if it has already been taken by another user, or, contains reserved words. If your desired username is not available, choose another.

If your desired username is available, click the change button

You will be prompted with the following warning;

Click Yes to confirm your wish to proceed

You will be returned to the preferences page. There is no need to click the Save Changes button.
