WoW Style Orc With Alphas

This is amazing! the amount of detail is insane. I was just wondering how you get to this many faces without crashing. my pc is struggling after a couple of million. Is there a trick or is it time to upgrade the graphics card(2070 super).

Finished retopology

I finally finished retopology for my orc, which really was a lot of work. I’m not sure if I made the right decisions on where to go with actual polygons and where to go just with normal maps as this section, in my opinion, was a bit brief. I used the trail version of Quad Remesher for some parts and cleaned them up a bit manually. It doesn’t make perfect topology but I hope good enough for nonanimated areas. The face was done by hand. I used a gaming laptop with a GTX 1070 so nothing crazy. It slowed down quite often in the end, but it didnt crash… most of the time

Since this is my most viewed post on the Orc and I did a lot of changes to the model after it, I wanted to show you how the anatomy finally turned out. Quite a bit better in my opinion…

Asymmetry

I couldn’t work on the course for a while and when I came back I thought the orc was too skinny , so I made him buffer. I also made his legs a bit longer and put some ice on his face… When I was done, I found that the model was slightly out of symmetry. I must have messed up with the grabing tool without realizing it. The last autosave that hasent the same problem is way back… I tried to bring him back to symmetry as best as I could. I think its pretty ok but of course it isnt perfect. I …

Truly an amazing job from my perspective mate, Well done. I didn’t have the patience to manually retopo my Orc, but I can really see the results of your work here.
