Why will YOU persevere with this course?

It is my dream to create games for a living. I bought this course a few years ago to change where my life is headed. These are my first step in a new direction and to find reasons to persevere with this decision is to spend a day at my job.

I have a love to FPS and RTS style game play and i figure that’s a good start. As for tough times, I’m getting though one now and it feels amazing to be jumping back into the this amazing world the Epic team has made for developers. I look forward to learn under Ben Tristem, Gavin Milroy.

I saw this course was on sale, it looked interesting, I’ve always wanted to learn a programming language and basics of a game engine (especially Unity or Unreal), so I bought this course. When it gets tough, I’ll just remember that this is easy mode compared to what I do in college on a typical basis, and on top of that I’ll think of all the things I will be able to do after I have finished it.

I have always wanted to make games and found this course on super sale so i decided why not ill learn C++ i have a little history is unity .

I want to improve my programming skills and create some material to add to my portfolio in between semesters at school. I hope to become proficient in using unreal engine and want to create an RPG with survival aspects. I know coding can be challenging but that’s what makes it so rewarding, the feeling you get when you create a functional program is amazing. I honestly just really love gaming and really enjoy challenging myself. The thought of my own ideas for a game coming to fruition and my desire to improve my portfolio will definitely keep me going.

I’ve been obsessed with video games since I was about 3 years old playing my first video game on the SNES. I really want to learn the skills necessary to be able to have an idea for a game and be able to bring it to fruition with some hard work.

To gain the skills to create new experiences that can change people’s lives in a job environment that can provide for my family as well as be something that I enjoy.

I’m taking this course to gain skills in using c++ and creating games using Unreal. I’m working to make a bit of a career switch . I’m now working as a IT/Software Programmer at an airport advertising company where mostly C# is used. I have a love for video games and I love playing them, but I want to do more. I bought this course with hopes of gaining new skills and experience that would help in building my understanding of how games are created and the coding behind it. In college, we mostly used C++ but that went out the window when I started working. I want this course to help me in taking my first steps into the gaming industry. Hopefully my programming experience will help me a bit but I know I’ll hit some challenging parts. To keep me going I’m going to remind myself that I’m not alone and that there is someone else going through the same thing. It’s okay to struggle and not understand something right away, just keep doing research, ask questions, and do the best you can. I’m very excited to get started!! :+1:

My childhood dream always was to be a game developer ,I already know programming so it could be good practice with enjoyment.
I hope to learn how to create something that involves math or pyshics.
I tried one of @ben courses before on Unity engine game developing course before and i had realy enjoyed it ,ben realy great teacher . But one of the my weaknesses is to persist( hope it the right word) on habits by myself so i wanted to try again but with Unreal engine ,because of c++ language and the popularity of the engine. So i hope this comment will be a reminder for me to keep learning.

I am wanting to brush off some of my old programming skills and start a second career as a SoftwareDev. I have not coded in a little over 25 years and I am ready to get back on the horse. C++ is very common now days. Years ago I used Pascal, Cobol, and Assembly. I absolutely, love how much easier Game Development is today and I am ready to dust off my skills, clean out the cob webs and bring out some ideas I have had for years and see how they translate today.

Hi everyone,
my motivation for perserving the course is that I am going to learn how to be a software engineer. And would love to be able to work on similar things in my freetime and also broaden my horizon with game development. I also have some neat ideas i would want to fullfill in the future.

I want to get into this course because I recently got the Oculus Quest and I want to be able to harness the power of it. I see potential in the freedom that it offers and it inspired me to create something for the world to enjoy. I never originally got the course thinking that this would be my motivation, but that’s what it turned out to be.

I’m taking this course because I want to work in the game industry, mainly as a game animator, but I’ve always enjoyed coding and want to be able to fix my own issues whether they be technical or artistic. Making games on the side is also one of my goals, hoping to one day be able to make a dream of mine come true; making an MMO style game where the focus is to help people learn through game mechanics in a fun environment reminiscent of old school MMOs.

My reason for taking this course is to gain experience in programming in C++ as well as experience working in the Unreal engine. In getting this experience I hope to get a job in the game industry as a programmer.

I really hope to be making my own games someday, it’s been a dream of mine since I was a kid. I bought this course because I’ve been procrastinating following my dream for a couple years, working a dead end job and I decided recently that I’m tired of it. I hope to build an open world sandbox RPG game, it’s my favourite genre of game with a lot of untapped potential. The only thing to keep me going is coffee, lots of coffee.

Hi all,
I’m taking this course to hopefully take my game development journey to a higher level. I’ve been programming games on various platforms for over 3 years and I’m hoping to someday have to opportunity to publish a game to a leading publishing site such as Steam. I also want to make fun games for me and my friends to play.

I am always interested in developing games and learning C++. Wanted to hit two birds with one stone

I am here because i want to develop games, It has been my childhood dream to get into this industry and create a game of my own. I’m totally new in creating games. I am 3D multimedia artist and know how to create 3D structures, characters and even animate them. But I am totally new to programming part, i actually want to learn on how to compile my 3D character with the gaming environment where I can control the moment of my character and hence develop a game.

Hey all, I bought this course on Udemy to learn C++, and the basics of building a game. I’m brand new to the world of coding, with my experience of the closest thing being JavaScript, and hoped this will help walk me from the beginnings into a new understanding to learn more coding.

I hope to create projects that I can use to make fun games and find myself with either a hobby of creating something fun for myself to enjoy or break out into a new field of study that I’ve always wanted to do since I was a kid.

I plan on getting through the hard times by remembering that I’m here because I want to be and that if at the end of the day I’m not doing something fulfilling, then at least I knew I gave this course my best.

Simply put, I love playing video games and now being able to make one of them - to see my imagination come to life is enough to keep myself going.

All my friends are game devs or producers and I’m in marketing. I’d like to move over to production and I see this course as a way for me to learn how to design my own small games and get that creative itch that I sometimes feel I’m missing.
