Welcome to the Unity Section 1 sub-forum

Hello everyone! My name is Lynn, and I’m a barista at Starbucks. My previous experience in games are playing them, and being an organizational leader for eSports at my previous university. After some deep personal reflection, I realized that what I really want to do is tell stories through interactive games. So while the almighty Starbucks God is paying for bachelor’s degree in writing, I’ll be diving into this course. I can’t wait to learn more about making games, and interacting with many of you as I get lost and confused on this journey.

I’m so glad to be taking this opportunity!

Hey, The name is Boyd, but for most of my gaming i go by Draco, I’ve only just started the Text adventure.
Well that is to say I’ve only just started my own, I’ve finished the courses concerning it. I’m so tempted to dive in and fully flesh out as i’ve already made an impromptu inventory witch allows you to carry the pin i used insead of a mirror in the cell… but if i progress further with the courses, i can find more code tools to fully flesh it out, having fun this far.

P.S. my inventory is just variable set to 0 on starting the game and changed to 1 on pickup, with if(int<1/2) as progression points.

Heya everyone, I’m Simon from the UK. I work as a test analyst for a financial software company where I deal with test automation in Ruby and RSpec, however would like to learn software development for both games and web applications.

I’ve already got a little C# experience after completing some of the beginner C# courses on Microsoft’s Virtual Academy, although I’ve never taken that knowledge any further and started working on my own projects. I have been torn between going down the Unity/C# route or trying the C++/Unreal route but in the end decided that it would make sense to build on my existing C# knowledge through this course to hopefully become a proficient programmer before moving onto a more advanced language such as C++.

Hi Guys,
My Name is Kyle, I live in Northamptonshire, England. I’m a 21 Year Old Graphics Designer, Former Baker and Creme Patisserie Manager and Chef.
I’ve started this course to get an insight into Unity and to learn C# Coding to one day use the skills I learn to begin to make games with a good friend of mine with a lot of ideas we’ve had from our gaming days. I’ve coded various computer game mods and other little side projects for computer games and had a small amount of success.
Looking forward to helping in any way I can and just enjoying a nice chat!
Regards!

My name is Marcin, from Wrocław, Poland.
I’m 25 years old, currently working as mobile game tester. I’ve been a dedicated gamer for about 20 years now, moving around variety of game genres. I wanted to learn how to develop games, so one day I might design and create games I’d love to play myself. Aside from that, I’m a drummer. I hope to meet and learn from you all!

Greetings, everyone!
I’m Juan Macedo, from Madeira. Currently midway through my masters in Computer Science. This is the very first course I’ll be taking in Udemy. I hope this will be a good programming experience, since we’ll be completing a few games, and I currently lack that kind of experience. So far I’ve worked in simpler, academic projects, so I think this will be a good experience for me. Also, GAME DEVELOPMENT! Nothing can beat that! :stuck_out_tongue:
Hope we all get along! Have fun with the course!
