Welcome to the Unity Section 1 sub-forum

Hello from Colorado

My name is Devin and I am a senior in high school. I’ve always loved playing video games and am trying to start up a YouTube channel right now. Also I have always wanted to try and learn how to make one but have never had the opportunity, but now I can so here I am.

Hello from Mexico
My name is Hector Hernandez I’m currently studying engineering in computer technologies. I usually game when I have free time, mostly because I like to think about how games are made and what is it that people like about particular games. Always wanted to be part of a videogame developing team. So yeah, that’s basically why I am here.

Hi,

My name is Merel. I’m 21 and presently studying for a premaster Game and Media Technology.
Most of my programming experience is in Java, but I’ve been wanting to brush up on C# in particular for a while.

I have done game design and devellopment before, but i’ve really only played the first three assasins Creed games. I do not have the funds for more. I caught a lucky break with course being on sale.

Really looking forward to learning from everything you guys make and excited to start the course.

Good luck all!

Hello All,

My name is Mark, I am a Software Support Specialist in Kent, Washington.
I am looking to improve my skills, to make myself more valuable for my employer.
I’ve been tinkering with code for about 34 years now, but only have a little formal training.
Although I do not intend to write games for a living, the knowledge is very helpful for the work I do.
I really enjoy making models using CAD/CAM software, and find it very rewarding when someone asks, "How did you do that?"
I find it rewarding to share my knowledge with others. Adding some new tools to my bag of tricks is always a good thing!

Cheers!

Hello everyone,

My name is Phillip. I am a IT Support Technician out of the Silicon Valley. My coding background is very minimal. The only language I know is Python and I am not very proficient at that. I am over 30 years old and have been playing games since back in the Atari/NES days. I figure I’d take my gaming a step further and learn how to code them. I guess we’ll see how that goes.

To all those like me, best of luck to yah!

Hi everyone,

My name is Kareim from Ottawa, Canada. I am an Electrical Engineer graduate (just last summer) and I’ve been interested in coding for quite come time. A friend of mine recommended this course so I thought I’d give it a go, though my programming skills are a bit rusty. I haven’t used C# before, just C++. I wonder if that will be a problem: is this course geared towards beginners in programming?

Hi, everybody! My name is Mauricio Ruiz, I’m a sound artist (sound designer - SFX - music - implementation) for games and films. I’m Brazilian , but i live in Vancouver - Canada. Bought this course to learn more about programming and game design, so this can help me be a better sound artist for games and maybe do a game in the near future (why not?!). Glad I can join the community.

I’m probably older than everyone else here. I’ve been a Programmer and a Technical Writer for a really long time. I have experience programming in multiple languages, but Unity is brand new for me. I know what Unit is but I have never used it before signing up for this course. My first language was interpreted BASIC but along the way I’ve also learned Pascal, C, C++, C#, and Java as well as web technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a little bit of Perl and Python.

This course should be fun.

Hi everyone,
I am lucas, I bought the corse because it was on the cheep and I was switching from mechanical to compsci so having a game engine to learn over the next few months can help me grow accustom to non-object oriented programing. I have been dabbling in Arduino due to a course in it.

Hey I’m Brent. I’m a front-end web developer who mostly focuses on the design of things (working with CSS). I’ve used several programming languages, but never to a large extent. I figured this would be a fun course to learn C# with.

Hi everyone, I’m Arka. Staying in Singapore. Originally from India. I’ve always had an interest in making things and a deep desire to learn coding to make all this cool projects I see online using devices like arduinos and raspberry pis. I’ll be enrolling in a B.Eng course next year and I’m pretty sure that programming will be a useful skill there too! Additionally, I like gaming. Not very hardcore like some of my friends, but I like playing regardless. Hope to learn a lot from this!

Hello, my name is Max, I am from Russia. I’ve always loved playing games, and when I was a kid I was dreaming about making them myself. When I grown up and started learning in university, my dream about games disappeared, and I was thinking more about serious stuff, like websites and applications. I continued playing games, but for some reason I had no wish to do them, even when my friends did and asked me to join.
But recently that idea sparked inside me again, and suddenly I started to enjoy videos about game development like Extra Credits and articles. So, that’s how I got this course. I love the simplicity of it and how it is devided into short lessons, that is easy to start watching and finish doing. So, I hope I’ll learn how to create good games myself

Hello everybody. My name is Rich, and I am a gaming instructor at a high school in Tucson AZ. My background is in C, C++, Java Script, HTML, PHP and now C#. And actually, I starting using C# around 2000-2001 time frame, but dropped it due to my workcenter changing directions.
I started the gaming course at the school I teach at a couple of years ago. This was due to the overwhelming demand from our student body. Being a programmer, not a gamer, I thought this would be a blast, and it has been. Pleased to be a part of this Unity forum

Hey everyone! My name is Richard; nice to meet you all!

I’m largely a web and mobile developer, with a large focus for the frontend side of stuff. Been at it for around ten years.
I tried jumping into game development a few months back, looking first into XNA and Monogame, but decided to abandon that recently because I felt like there’s just too much stuff you have to fight to get things going.

Since I’m very much comfortable with .NET, it was only logical to try Unity, I guess. So here I am.

Let’s all have tons of fun.
