Welcome to the Unity Section 1 sub-forum

Hey there, my name is Hutch. I’m an artist looking to expand my skills in the direction of game development with Unity and Blender in the hopes of leading development on my own games, or joining other indie teams in the future. I’ve dabbled in game design before, but this is the first time I’ve paid for lessons and am eager to dive into a more constructed learning environment for tools that are widely used.

Welcome to the community lads and lasses
Its amazing to see the wide diversity of people and ambitions.

Good bunch here to help you along the journey, so dont be afraid to ask away!

Have fun and look forward to seeing your creations.

Hi everyone!

My name is Claudia and I am one of those Lit majors you’ve all heard about. I’ve been a gamer for more than 12 years now and I’ve been flirting with python programming since last year. My favorite game genre is the RPG. I’m excited about the hands-on approach of this course.

HI, I’m Neil - I’m a teacher in the UK, I have been studying computer games with my class off 9 & 10 year olds and thought it would be cool if I could learn something a bit more to show the kids what you could achieve in a short space of time.

Hi, everyone! I’m Alejandro, I’m a history teacher in Spain.

I’ve actually never code nor have any previous experience with game making (except from some Game Maker Studio) and I’ve started the Unity course a couple of weeks ago and so far I have been enjoying it very much so far.

I hope to hear about your games soon,

Cheers

Hello there,

My name is Omar, I’m a Software Engineer. I’ve always liked video games but in my experience coding I’ve never gotten to work with them, and I would like to learn so I can make little games as a hobby on the week ends. I already have tons of game ideas and have made one or two board games, and I’m really excited to put my ideas in the digital world to share.

Just began this course but looking forward to it.

Cheers,
Omar

Hi, my name is Nick. I’m from the midwest United States. I’m 31 and been out of college for a while. I’ve been unemployed for a while when I saw the class’s Black Friday sale. I remember thinking I’d be in game development when I was younger, and I see the class as a chance to remember that old time.

Hello everyone
my name is Wurud and I’m an Information System fresh graduate. I just started a new challenge in my life to learn about game development. I must say I liked Unity and I want to get the best of it along with learning C#.

Best,

Hello I’m Dan and this introduction feels like some AA meeting(not that I’ve ever been) but here we go.

I’m 27 (soon to be 28) working and living in the south west country side of England in the county of Somerset. Contrary to popular belief we do actually have computers and networks in the country side and not just cows, although you know, we have a lot of those! and sheep, many sheep.

Anyway, I’m a high school dropout but have been working in IT for nearly 12 years in different jobs and roles and have become a jack of all trades master of none type of guy. Something I’ve always had is a passion for games, the mechanics and why certain decisions have been made during the creation process and have always had the dream of making my own game. So that’s what brought me here.

Hi all hope you’re having a great day where ever you are!

Hi all!

I’m Ashley, I’m an illustrator and interactive designer out of college for about 4 years now. I have some coding background; but most of my learning was done in Actionscript 3 (pause for laughter). I am hoping to update my knowledge and apply it to Unity. I love designing games as a story-telling platform, and my goal with this course is to start using Unity to develop some story-based games.

Can’t wait to get started, and hear about game ideas you all have!

I live in Pittsburgh, PA (US).

Hi,
David here. I’m on my 5th career but have always been interested in games, both playing and developing, and have played with Unity without getting very far. Course seems like it could help…

David
