Welcome Everyone!

Hi everyone,

I’m Jeffrey Beckers, 27 years old (in few days), Belgian and I’m currently web developer.

I’m interested by art as long as I can remember.
And one day I just gave up with artistic stuff (1 year and half), I was too much formated to create anything.

My purpose in taking this course is to create new stuff, use new tool to create and stop to think that I’m limited by my knowledge. Also, if I can come back and do artistic stuff my work, it could be great.

My mantra : “New tool, new perspective, new creation”.

Hope all of you a lot of pleasure if you start this course, hope you like(d) it if you are (were) deep in this course and hope to talk with you soon

See ya

Hi all! I’m Tim, and I’m currently a software developer. I’ve been getting into 3d printing lately and my goal with this course is to hopefully be able to make some of my own models that I can print! I’d also like to try my hand at some animations and other rendering techniques and try to make some interesting creations.

Hello, I am Antti, a front end developer and I’m interested in everything. It’s my blessing, but also my problem. Acknowledgin that I’d like to be able to manifest my ideas in as many ways as possible. I want to be able to create cool stuff for 3D printing, I want to try creating photorealistic rooms, make models for games, make cgi for videos, make cgi videos.

Whatever comes from that, comes. I just want to be ready for it.

Hi I’m Sid, 52 from Edinburgh in Scotland.
Currently making my way through the Unreal / C++ course. My main genre that I play is RPGs, so taking this course to give myself some asset-building learning too. Unfortunately the sale on the RPG course will be over by the time I have finished these two courses ( I have 2 kids…), but at least I’ll have a good grounding.

Hi all. My name is Daniel and I’m a web developer and hobbyist game designer that already has a long background in 2D art, but was always afraid to take the ‘leap’ to 3D.

I used to tinker with Blender in my spare time since forever ago, but never got beyond that ‘tinkering’ phase.

My goal this year is to overcome that block, and apply the skills I learn to bolster my game development hobby, as well as explore art in 3D.

Hi! I’m Andrea from Italy. I’m a student in Virtual Reality and Multimedia at the university and I work in a company who makes training simulation in virtual reality (like videogames but without the fun).
I hope I will learn something about the art of modelling, because I’m a developer and 3D is a new topic for me

Hello, I’m Michael from Girard, PA in the United States. I have been using Blender since it was coded in 2.48, if that says anything to my time with the program. My skills are nominal, but I thought I’d take this course to polish things a bit.

Here is a demo of my latest work, inspired by Andrew Price.

Hi everyone, Jamie Smith here! :v::grinning:
I am 21 years old and am partly from Liverpool, UK and Aalborg, Denmark. I have begun diving in to development, swimming further and further out as time progresses.

I started of in January by learning how to develop apps for Android in an online scholarship from Google - I then bought the Complete Unity Course from Ben Tristam, along with the VR Course he provides. Having sped through the VR Course and during the Complete Unity Course I fell upon this gem - so hopefully it will further progress my skill set.

Before getting in to development and programming I was a singer/songwriter, producer and artist (I still am - or wanna be at least); but I got Multiple Sclerosis in the summer of 2016, so most of the time I can’t do music, unfortunately… I am very excited and happy about taking the final step to learn all of this great stuff. I have always been in to gaming, and fascinated with coding (Yes, I am a nerd :nerd: but who isn’t, really?) - I even considered a job in architecture before falling ill. Learning to use as versatile a software as Blender, is really not the worst thing I could spend my (very long and frustrating) recovery time on! On the contrary…

Good luck to everyone on here, and nice to meet you all!

Hi Michael, I too have been using Blender on and off since the old 2.4x version, with that old, rather strange UI, and also decided to take this course to pick up some new things, and possibly better ways to do things I’ve already played with.

Can’t wait for 2.8!

Hello all,

My name is Tom. As a recently graduated Belgian engineer i just can’t help it but be unhappy at the amount of skills i learned throughout my education. So i decided to build my own skills by trying a couple of stuff.
Since me and my friends had build a 3D printer and other friends decided we should start making a game, i thought it would be usefull to learn how to make 3D models.
I have been using blender for over 1 month but i am not happy with the progress so i decided to try this course and see if my progress increases when i get an explanation.

I look forward to following this course with you guys.

Hey Everyone,
My name is Zac and I purchased these lessons to get back into the 3D modelling game. I was 3D modelling back when I was studying mechanical engineering, and I wanted a software that will give good results. Blender popped up and I found this course earlier today, so I figured I would get it and get started on the right foot

Hello all. My name is Clayton. I am a coder by trade and just finished up the Unity courses Ben and his team offer on Udemy. I am looking to learn Blender to make some assets for a few game ideas I have. Very little natural artistic ability so curious to see how this goes.

Hello,
My name is Thaheer and I am a highschool student from the United States. I don’t quite have a goal, but if had to say it would be between character creation and animating. However, I want to learn Blender because I want to be productive in my free time and work on projects of my own instead of playing video games all day. Nice meeting all of you.:

Hello everyone.
Nice to meet you all.

My name is Mirithil and I’m from The Netherlands. I have a great interest in 2D and 3D art. But my real love for 3D started when I purchased the game “The Sims” about 17 years back. As this game developed I noticed you could make custom content for it, so I started texturing all sorts of objects for it. I also played around with Daz Studio for a while.
Ever since I was a child I was a huge fan of Tolkien and when the movies came out I couldn’t stop watching them, and especially the Behind the Scenes specials on how everything was created fascinated me. When the LOTRO MMO came out, I spent hours walking around in this beautiful world that was created fully in 3D. That’s when I knew I wanted to create something in 3D myself.
I downloaded Blender many times, but never managed to create anything real. But a few weeks back I set myself the goal that I would really learn the program. And this time I wouldn’t just open up the program and try something by myself, but actually follow a course.

I wish everyone good luck and a lot of fun!

Hello, I’m yuro. I’m a designer and illustrator. Nice to meet you!

I am not 100% new to 3D, but I am ready to get in deeper and start learning about it seriously enough to put together a small portfolio. My main goal is to make low poly scenarios and characters, and hopefully, learn enough about modeling and rigging to become a character concept designer or a modeler at a game dev studio someday. Blender is my first step towards that goal, and also an exciting new challenge since I’ve been feeling pretty stuck with my current illustration work.

I am very shy and not good at networking, but I’ll be cheering for everyone who has decided to start this course and learn something new. Let’s all give our best!

Hello, My name is Patrick and my ultimate goal is to create a “singing pumpkin” animation for Halloween. I want to be able to project jack-o-lantern faces on pumpkins. If I can accomplish that, then I may want to try my hand at some projection mapping on my home. I have been intrigued by Blender for a long time. Have looked at some free on-line resources, but haven’t gotten much further than creating simple objects. Let’s see if you can teach this “old dog” some new tricks

Hi ! I’m Adrien and I’m a bio-IT specialist working in Finland.
I’m a total noob regarding 3d modelling.
I have no particular goal in mind regarding this courses; just hope to spend a nice time learning some interesting things in a field of IT I’m less than expert at.
Hope we all spend some good time !
