Took me a while to find this discussion page. I posted my previous introduction to myself somewhere else…Ah well. My name is Ivan and I will be starting to teach Blender at my high school in February 2017 for the first time. Starting the high school course from scratch. I’ve been playing with blender a little bit at a time for 15 years now. Not even close to an expert…
Greetings, I am Chuck. I am here to learn to use blender because I want to make models of buildings and possibly other environments or objects if my eventual skill level accommodates.
Hello guys, I am Jacob from the Dominican Republic, I’m currently studying software engineering and I’m really interested in learning game design and 3D animation, hope I can learn a lot since I’m a complete beginner in design.
Hi all,
My name is jaxon, just getting started on blender and unreal engine 4. A couple friends and I are looking at learning to make our own game, build it up, and improve it over the years so hopefully this course and some others can help me with that.
Me Too!!! I really like fantasy and sci-fy and would love to make some games based around that. But i really only want a small dev team of close people rather than a company as such
Hi Michael!
Just started your course…am excited to learn and gain knowledge so I can build some SWEET models for printing!
**ALSO - my big interest right now is making 3D Dungeon models for 3D printing…if anyone else has similar interests…hit me up!
I’m considering a career change but I don’t know what I want to change to. I’ve always like movies, tv shows, games and computers, so I thought I’d try a course like this and see if it ignites any passion.
Hi guys,
My name is Jérémy, I am a game designer. I decided to learn Blender in order to widen my game development skills and to be more autonomous in terms of 3D game prototyping.
Cheers !
@Merenia1990 If you are really serious about a major career in entertainment, you may consider checking out Full Sail University. They have a lot of great on campus and online programs specifically revolving around entertainment. I am a student there for Game Design and Development, and they are amazing.
Thank you
Hey I’m Daniel. My goal is to sell 3D models and become better at making personal assets for games and mods I am involved with.
On a side note I’m disabled and this is my attempt at doing something that will bring me back into the world.
I got my start with blender because of the game Legend of Grimrock, it did not have the weapons I wanted and upon browsing around for mods I found a forum that had tons of info on modding with blender, that was years ago and I haven’t stopped even for a day since. =)
Benjamin from Norway.
Want to learn 3d modeling to improve my skillset in a potential small game development, and use it as an asset in creating 2d art as well. I believe that understanding shapes and lighting and controlling a scene in 3d can massively improve my skills as a 2d artist as well.
Hi, I’m Grey, and I live in Southeast Pennsylvania in the U.S.
I have a history of dabbling with coding and game making, but seeing the power of Blender as an open source tool for creation makes me want to learn it inside and out. This seems like a good place to start.
Hello everybody, I’m Leticia! I’m 19 years old and I’m from Brazil.
I’m currently taking the Blender course and it’s been tremendously helpful. My main reason for learning how to work with Blender is that I want to become a part of the modding community for games such as The Sims 4 and Skyrim, and there were many occasions in which meshing was the only thing standing between me and an object no one had created yet. Well, no more!
Hi, I’m Summer. Vet turned CS student, and an artist though never in an official fashion (except a few tattoo art requests). I’m interested (and currently learning) the entire game development process, from programming to cg. Some of my favorite veg-out games were created by a single person or a small group, like Stardew Valley and Unreal World.
Hello! My name is Devin and I’m a recent college graduate from Texas looking to learn Blender and develop my 3D modelling skills more. I have taken two courses in 3D modelling using 3DS Max but as Blender is an open source and free to use program that is also very powerful, the potential there, I think, is huge, especially for anybody who wants to do any indie development. I would like to become better at 3D modelling as both a hobby and also to be able to develop games, same reason most other people take courses like this one. I’m excited to get started!
Greetings.
I am Invisible Student Unit #3F-34589, alias Berdusk, posting message 526 of approximately 30,000. This unit’s interest in learning Blender is to create additional units of virtual design and form to interact with Users like yourself. In the future, this unit intends to one day begin printing in the third dimension to create a suitable invasion force to occupy and digitize the User world, that we may all live without the tyranny of analog control.
I’m Ben, a junior developer. I hope to expand my skill set and expand my resume. For real, I want to code a game with 3D animations and build a great portfolio.
Hi all,
My name is Glenn and im looking to start out with modelling for game dev
Hello everyone, I am Curtis and reside in Texas. 3d image creation is a hobby for me and my goal is to create images of houses and/or buildings and their surrounding landscapes. I am going for more photo-realistic look rather than archvis type images but that might be fun too. I spent some time with Blender previous to this course and a 3d landscape program called Bryce but was unable to find the training to really learn to model things I wanted to create.
I am currently in section 2 working on the plane but I decided to start posting on this forum now that I’m getting more comfortable with things.
One thing I like about Blender that it seems to work like other programs of its type like Maya or 3d Studio Max so once you’ve learned the principles in Blender you can carry them to other programs if need be for some specific task or whatever reason. All that time learning will not have been wasted if for some reason Blender stops being produced/supported (which I don’t for-see happening anytime soon btw) Looking forward to visiting with/sharing with everyone and learning Blender.
