when i start the game i get 538 i press higher and get 902 if 539 has become the new min and 1000 is the max then added together they make1539 divided by 2 is 769
have i misunderstood the calculations or is the program jus t giving out random numbers above the min number each time

What you described sounds correct to me. You can easily verify your theory by playing a few rounds. You know your min and max values, so you can predict the “guess”. If the computer displays your predicted “guess” and this happens every time you test the game, you can safely assume that you are right. That’s the good thing about computers: You can figure many things out by simply verifying/falsifying your assumptions. In fact, that’s what we mainly do as programmers.
