Hey everybody! Just recently enrolled in the Unreal Engine developer course in Udemy. Iā€™m not entirely new to Unreal or coding but am looking towards improving and rebuilding my foundation with Unreal and C++.
Iā€™m also studying Game development in collegeā€¦ which if I am to be completely honest, Iā€™ve slacked off and am currently only barely passing. Iā€™m looking to make a complete 180 and get myself fully concentrated and back on track and I believe this course on Udemy can help me do so!

Hope to make everyoneā€™s acquaintance and will be seeing you all in the forums!

Hello everyone, how are you all doing? I am just starting this course and it is my hope to learn C++. I have used it in the past, but as they say if you donā€™t use it, you will lose it. I havenā€™t completely forgotten everything, but donā€™t remember enough to be successful just yet. I ask a lot of questions, hopefully, some one will jump in and help me out. I am a college professor trying to move into a new direction. See you all in the threads!

Hi Everyone, my name is Jeanne and I am new to this site. I am very interested in programming and love it but have not had time to work on it. In August I had a brain aneurysm burst and subsequently lost my job. I am 50 years old and now I have no job. All of a sudden I have tons of time on my hands. I spend most of my days gaming, trying to rehabilitate my brain into thinking properly again. I have bought several programming classes from Ben and Iā€™m wanting to take them and maybe write my own game. I am hoping that doing some programming will help my brain heal as well. I have always loved programming and feel my most happy while programming so I am sure it will relax and make me feel comfortable. I wanted to say hi to everyone.
Thank you for letting me into the site!
Jeanne

Hi
My name is Sarah, and I just finished my honours degree in Computer Arts from Abertay University in Scotland last week. Already getting itchy feet from not studying, so here I am. I have made a few games as part of a team before but I only know the art side of the coin, so will be awesome to see it from a programmers side, and gain insight into the full pipeline  .
I specialise in Technical Art in Maya and character rigging, but am doing this course to widen my portfolio. Only ever touched on Python and MEL scripting before, so C++ is very new to me. Really looking forward to getting stuck in

HI everyone,

My name is Nate, Iā€™m from Scotland. Iā€™ve recently graduated Uni where I studied a software development degree. I focused on Android and Java, so if anyone ever has any questions or wants tips then please do message!

Iā€™ve been a part of Benā€™s courses for a while, and finally getting around to joining this site & starting the RPG course now that I have a bit more free time after work! Iā€™m always keen to meet other programmers and graphics designers so message anytime, Iā€™d love to work together with a few people.

Hi there everyone! My name is Anthony R. Stewart and Iā€™ve just recently graduated from Full Sail University for a Bachelor of Science degree in Game Design. Iā€™m interested in making FPS and 1on1 fighting games. My short term goal is to hone my skills as a designer to join the team at Treyarch or Namco Bandai USA and provide insightful contributions to the development of their AAA lineup of IPā€™s. My dream career is to own my own development company and to usher in a line of gamification titles that can be used in public schools. I believe our teachers have a lot on their plate and providing an avenue for learning will help them facilitate the students. I look forward to speaking with you all and I hope that we can build some great working relationships together.

Hi all,

So full disclosure, Iā€™m a returning member. I previously completed the complete unity course, the certified developer course and obtained my unity certifiction in October last year. However I then lost some focus. Truth is I live in a part of the world thatā€™s to game development careers what camels are to the Amazonian rain forest. I got disheartened. The last few months Iā€™ve been studying web development as thatā€™s largely the career options where we live now.

However Iā€™ve increasingly realised that game development is my passion. So even if itā€™s only a hobby, I miss it a great deal. Iā€™m now retaking the complete unity course and look forward to working on the RPG course soon!

Hi everyone,

My nameā€™s Hugo and ever since the Unity course first popped up in Kickstarter, Iā€™ve been slowly compiling every other course Ben and his team have been putting out in the hopes that one day Iā€™d come up with my own game. Adulting has seriously hindered my ability to focus on this passion and even when I do start, I get sidetracked or discouraged, but Iā€™m hoping this time is different. Iā€™m going all in with the Unreal course and hopefully that will jump-start the beginning of something great.

Iā€™m a Brooklyn, NY native and I was able to visit the Playcraft Expo in the Microsoft building in Manhattan. A lot of people had very interesting games and some of them were even more impressive because they were done by 1 man teams.

I think where I struggle the most is just the logic behind programming. I begin understanding the the basic concepts and then Iā€™m dumb-founded because I donā€™t know how to put them into practice, but again, I hope this time around I can really put my best foot forward and finally grasp the concepts that have been plaguing me for ages.

Anyway, good luck to you all and hopefully weā€™ll interact and help each other out!

Hi Hugo,

If you get stuck at any point just ask, either on the Udemy Q&A if itā€™s specific to a lecture that youā€™re having problems with, or, just post here - there are lots of friendlies who will be willing to help you
