This is the Blender Collaboration 2025, week 49 challenge. Don’t be afraid to join, a lot of us are beginners. This is all to practice, have fun, learn, and get together.
This week’s subject is “Helmet”.
“Helmet” - A helmet is a form of protective gear worn to protect the head. More specifically, a helmet complements the skull in protecting the human brain. Ceremonial or symbolic helmets (e.g., a policeman’s helmet in the United Kingdom) without protective function are sometimes worn. Soldiers wear combat helmets, often made from Kevlar or other lightweight synthetic fibers.
The rules are simple. 1 subject, 1 entry, 1 week.
You create whatever object or scene or whatever you can think of that has something to do with the subject. It can be as simple or complicated as you want, all entries are welcome!
Post your picture here in this thread. At the end of the week, we start to vote. And if you are the winner, you may choose the next subject and win a unique badge.
I have trouble with keeping focus, so I stopped participating in the Blender Collabs, even though I really enjoy them. I’ll try a new approach and update with a progress render every day - see if that won’t create some kind of accountability for me
I’m trying to recreate an image I did in watercolour ages ago.
Its been a while since i’ve participated, but I have pretty much been working in Blender nearly every day for months. I am excited to present this Helmet for the Collab
Thank you - I just hope I can figure out how to make what I’m wanting it to look like in the end xD
It sounds really cool with a helmet from Assassins Creed! I look forward to seeing it!
I can recommend posting a daily render. Every time my shoulder devil tells me I should just quit because it looks stupid, I remember I’ve sorta committed to posting my daily progress, and it looks even more stupid if it’s the same as yesterday <.<
(Additionally, I’d love to see your process in action ;D )
The sand could be improved and the helmet might need some more tweaking but I’m happy with the result.
I did not have a lot of time this week but was inspired by the subject so my goal in creating this was to try and tell a story with the image within a tight time frame
There’s no real deadline, except that I’ll create the poll on Sunday morning. You can still submit an entry until then. If the poll is already up, submissions are too late.
