This is the Blender Collaboration 2025, week 25 challenge. Don’t be afraid to join, a lot of us are beginners. This is all to practice, have fun, learn, and get together.
This week’s subject is “Fantastic Mushroom”.
“Fantastic Mushroom” - Design a mushroom that could thrive in a magical, fantastical world.
The rules are simple. 1 subject, 1 entry, 1 week.
You create whatever object or scene or whatever you can think of that has something to do with the subject. It can be as simple or complicated as you want, all entries are welcome!
Post your picture here in this thread. At the end of the week, we start to vote. And if you are the winner, you may choose the next subject and win a unique badge.
I just thought of doing a house first. But when I finished, I decided to add more props and I thought having the Mario bricks there would be a good fit.
I think I’m gonna add a fence and some more props. Still looks quite empty.
That’s all nice. Have you tried to change the background so that it does not “compete” with the rest? That could also help with this impression that it is “empty”.
no but fr, i learned (and re-learned) a lot from this challenge, especially geometry node and fire sim. This is far from finished and I would love to revisit it later once I have enough skill, especially the invisibility effect for invisible woman, but for now I present the Fantastic Mushrooms
We @BlenderCollab have a few days to vote. You can vote fast but also think slowly about design, colors, technique, difficulty, subject, realism, etc. Choose consciously and not on your entry.
The new subject week 26 “Gardening” has already started. The winner of this week’s “Fantastic Mushroom” challenge may select a subject for next week 27 and win a badge.
@Megane_Wang , congratulations on your winning entry.
locsoloka - very nice scene. A bit more light is needed so we can see the details of the house better.
DrBane - A nice diversity on mushrooms. The texture of the highly detailed rock and the mushrooms are not in balance.
gallmerci - Electrified mushroom come to mind. Also here the detailed ground foliage and simplified mushroom is not in balance I think.
FedPete - It more a spooky forrest than a fantastic mushroom.
lol_lol - Great model! Could be more playfull. Like the mailbox could use some random rotation. Now it looks too mechanical (moved along the x,y,z axes).
Note: I don’t want to offend anyone. I try to write down positive ideas and visions in my simple use of the English language. I am also sometimes more inspired by a particular subject or solution. I’m also learning from you!
