2024 Collab: Week 51 “Snowman” - VOTE CLOSED

This is the Blender Collaboration 2024, week 51 challenge. Don’t be afraid to join, a lot of us are beginners. This is all to practice, have fun, learn, and get together.

This week’s subject is “Snowman”.

  • Snowman - To keep with our winter theme, how about “snowman”. Of course it could be snow, anything, boy, girl, non-binary, dog, cat, whatever! Maybe it should be called “snow creature”?
  • Subject selected by the previous Week 49, 2024 “ Sleds " winner mfortunato

The rules are simple. 1 subject, 1 entry, 1 week.
You create whatever object or scene or whatever you can think of that has something to do with the subject. It can be as simple or complicated as you want, all entries are welcome!
Post your picture here in this thread. At the end of the week, we start to vote. And if you are the winner, you may choose the next subject and win a unique badge.

Deadline: 2024-12-21T22:55:00Z

Carrot study

Using a hand drawn texture, plus bump map. Cycles render.

Pebbles

Pebble stone (32 verts) and some Krita wizardry.

Coal

This one was difficult to materialize. I had some ideas, but difficult to build using material nodes.

That’s hilarious! Great idea.

Great!

I love this slow build up. These snowman parts are turning out beautifully. I can’t wait to see the final result.

Low-poly snowman. At first I imagined such a snowman, made of cubes, then I realized that the cubes would be wooden. From this grew a small play set.

This is a fantastic idea and really nicely executed. It feels like a high end children’s wooden block set. Very cool (cause it’s snow, man…stupid dad puns).

@FedPete those textures/materials are FIRE! I cannot wait to see the full render - this is going to be fantastic!

Snowman disappearing act ‘warmly’ received by onlookers?

Perhaps it needs a heat source?

Now you see him…now you don’t!
I love how the smile is still intact, but now looks like a frown
Great job, @FedPete. This is looking excellent.

Perfect!!

Here comes my snowman.

Here is my work in progress:

Here is my final. This was half an exercise in trying to efficiently model something simple and half an excuse to try out the new brushstroke extension from blender studio. The whole thing was pretty hastily thrown together.

I hope that snow person doesn’t melt in that very stylish and WARM coat! Looks great, @Megane_Wang!

This will probably be it for me as I’m too tired to continue. Only managed to get started on this when it was already “past deadline”. Really wanted to get an entry in this week but unfortunately work had other plans for me
yikes, better luck next time I suppose :unamused:

Very fun idea and the way you’ve illustrated this is very good (fish eye).
