Not if it’s runny frosting!
That only has modern versions sadly. My childhood Christmas was Tunis cake, The McVitie’s production they mention. The other image on the page though does have the correct sort of chocolate to cake ratio! As time went by they cut it down, saving costs I suppose. And shows how my idea of cut chocolate should look. However as I recall it, it was exceedingly hard to cut! I fear that modern copy is some softer yucky fake chocolate!
Went in for a bit of re-touch and re-composition on my gif.
My submission for this week. It´s a bit sarcastic. Can´t do more cause i´m under serious stress atm.
In germany we sometimes say - if someone does something really bad/despicable/immoral - this is an “Armutszeugnis” (like a certificate for poor decisions or mindset) as proof that something´s wrong. Often referring to society as a whole in consequence. But theoretically it can be anything from homeless people to parents beating their children to species extinction to war crimes and so on.
I don´t know too much about the origin, but it´s more than just a metaphore cause it really existed in the after war era(s). The state provided the extremely poor with food marks for example. But to get the free help, you needed an official piece of paper, confirming you were indeed “poor”. Nowadays we use the word to display poor behaviour (not poverty on a monetary level but poverty on a more social or spiritual level) in which we see a negative impact on those suffering from the consequences.
Example: “Grown up tough guys beating up little kids is really an Armutszeugnis.”
My post is more about the word Armutszeugnis, because it works in endless constellations. But there is an idiom: “Ein Armutszeugnis ausstellen” (Giving someone a certificate for his/her poverty"
Quick Example (not my view on every politician out there): “All you can do with those politicians is handing them out an Armutszeugnis - they don´t have any clear strategy and aren´t even helpful to their supporters”
I find the word fascinating because it was basically born out of the devastating consequences of warcrimes but is now used to disapprove of hurtful actions in a non-hurtful way. It got through an evolution. Good stuff can be born out of bad situations and that´s a thing us humans just do from time to time without thinking to much about it.
Thanks for reading, i know it´s a little dark and not that great of a 3d model but i wanted to share it with you.

Hmm. That’s true! Or maybe someone (like me) poured more chocolate after cutting off a slice!
It was really interesting to read! I picked a phrase of a curious origin that dates back to the 9th century so maybe I’ll add some information on that too. I really liked your idea.
I think your sort of minimalistic scene works well for the phrase you chose. It would be cool if instead of an empty glass there was an object that would suggest why the person behind the scene received this certificate. It looks good anyway!
Thank you! I´m looking forward to your post! I also like your idea about another object.
I havent messed with depth of field much but it will be interesting to mess with
I like this a lot, it’s fun. My only critique would be the character is just a little too dark so there isn’t enough contrast between him and the background. Maybe making him more reflective would help?
Tweaked it some, moved a few things around, and then realized I was getting a hiccup in some animations, which I corrected.
I dig it and love the top hat. What do you use to make the gif?
This is the site I’ve been using for gifs recently. It seems to work pretty decently, though I’m not really of a wide breadth of experience in converting gifs.
Beware of the file size limits for gifs here though.
There’s a reason it took me a little while to find a gif converter that worked well for me.
That’s what the collab’s all about!
Looks a lot better, I like the green variation as well
thats adorable. nice bull
cool idea
