Welcome to the Unity Section 1 sub-forum

Hi!
I’m Randy from Virginia. I’ve had a few experiences in programming, just a high school class for VB .NET, and a month long summer class on 3D game programming in C++ with OpenGL and DirectX. Not that I can remember much from either of those other than the general gist of programming.
I’ve wanted to learn Unity for a while but just didn’t dedicate any time until recently. My aim is to get into VR creation since work will be picking up a Vive soon for high school students and I may need to do some support (and some play).

Hi,

This is Gautam from Delhi, India.

I have some software development experience, but had always wanted to learn game development as well.

Hey Jorge, hope things are going swell in Puerto Rico!

My name is Carson and I am a college student looking to learn a new (and fun) artistic skill over the summer!

I’ve been dabbling in game development and programming (Python, C++, C#) for years, but now i’m ready to take the final step and really dive head first into learning the skills I need to make a real game!

Hello Everyone! I’m Efim, and I live in San Francisco. I’ve never coded anything, so let’s see where this course can take me!

I want to make original smart games for different platforms.

Hi everyone,
Erik from Norway here.
I’m currently working as a system developer, developing tools for schools in Norway, but I’ve always been a gamer at heart, and I’m finally starting to work on my dream of becoming a game developer.

Hello!
I’m Scott currently in Burbank - I’m a musician/composer, but I’ve always wanted to get into games. I learned C++, Java, and Perl back in the 90s, but fell out of using it for the past 15 years. I figured learning how to code again and make my own games was as good a way as any to learn how to implement music in unique and interesting ways with the unity engine. It also helps in understanding how to implement other middleware solutions using C#.

Hi! My name is Darko, and I am a software developer, currently working at Ericsson, where I work with network synchronization algorithms. In my spare time I code in C++ and C#. I started developing games 8 months ago, mostly using C++/SDL.
I decided to start learning Unity to be able to code “bigger” and more “serious” games. I am a visual type of guy and would like to learn modelling as well.
I am open to any kind of cooperation, like team projects.
Cheers and have a nice day!

Hello! My name is Brittany and I live in Helena, MT. I recently completed a bachelors in IT where I learned some programming (mostly Java). I have never used C# but I am looking forward to learning a new language. I think this course sounds like a fun way to keep up and expand my programming skills!

Hi everyone! I’m Amelia from Australia and I’m currently doing a PhD in mathematics. I’ve recently been required to learn some programming and I’m finding I’m enjoying it much more than expected! So much so that I’m thinking about a career change (deviation?), which could include software development or game development. I’m taking this course as a first step towards that

Hello, everyone, I’m Matt! I’m from Virginia originally but just moved to North Carolina after finishing my CS degree at the University of Virginia. I’ve been using Unity for a few years, and have taken classes on Game Design, AI, and Computer Graphics. I’m starting an indie company with some friends now, and figured that this course would be an excellent way for me to consolidate my knowledge!

Hi! I’m Benjamin from Germany and I hope to learn some cool things about game development through this course!

Hi there, all.

Doug here, from Malaysia. I’ve been modding games for the longest time - I started out with the original Half-Life and Jedi Outcast, then moved on to Half-Life 2 and GMod where I messed around a bit with 3D artwork. I got stuck into modding Devil May Cry 3 and 4 for a while after that, and most recently, I’ve been dumping a whole bunch of time into modding Bethesda games.

Modding aside though, I’ve not really done a whole lot of making games from scratch. I’ve been dabbling around in Unity 5 for a while now, and learned a bit of C# doing it. But after a few rewrites of half-baked projects, I decided that it’s finally time I sat down and did a course, you know, properly.

In the vein of (what I believe to be) most bedroom programmers, I’d one day like to release my own game and maybe, just maybe - slip the surly bonds of a day job.

Hey, a guy can dream.

Anyway, nice to meet you all, and I hope we get plenty of opportunities to talk game design in the coming days.

Hey everyone! I’m Philip, and live in NYC. I graduated from Full Sail University - Online, back in October (2015) as Valedictorian of my class, obtaining a Bachelors of Science in Game Design. In January of 2016, I obtained an internship for a startup company called Katapult, that on April 1st, released our first game via Early Access on Steam called CHKN. I have not done much else since then, and am hoping to get back into the swing of things – relearning what I can – in order to find a more permanent job.

Hello! My name is Pat Yoe or PYoe for short. I’m currently living in Indonesia, and used to live in California for quite a while. I’m taking this course as a hobbyist. I want to learn to make little games for fun and see if I can apply it in some educational way… we’ll see.

Anyway if you’re in Indonesia, hit me up for a chat
