Welcome to the Unity Section 1 sub-forum

Hi all! I’m James, and I live in Indiana, in the US. I’m 31, and looking to expand my coding/scripting experience, which is limited.

Look forward to seeing what others have done, and learning!

Hi all!
I’m Tik, I work as a book publisher in the UK and have recently started learning Ruby on Rails to help develop and promote tech literacy in the industry. What I’m really interested in is game development – so here I am, hoping to combine the two great loves of my life, books and video games.
Very much looking forward to getting stuck in, and seeing what everyone gets up to!

Hi There!

My name is Sanne, i’m Dutch and studying at the Technical Univeristy Delft. At the moment i’m following the course “Learn code by making games”… well… just for fun!

Hi I’m Robert, I live in Washington State (USA) and work for a tech startup company. A newbie to unity, C#, and gaming development. Lots of tech hardware experience. But I’m excited to learn software game development and especially looking forward to learning from each other as much as the course!

My name is Christopher and I’m currently a computer science student from Wisconsin. I’m taking a game development course next semester and I’m excited to get a jump start by taking this course first. I have the most experience with java, but I have dabbled in HTML and CSS.

Hi guys,
I’m Laurie, I’m from Lincolnshire in the UK. I am a commission-based artist and filmmaker that makes video promos, infomercials and logos for companies
I love videogames and have a lot of ideas I really want to use in my own personal projects.
I haven’t got a lot of background in programming but that’s why I’m here to learn, I wish you all luck with your course!

Hey everybody!

My name is James (Jim works, too) and I am a web developer with an app startup focused on teen mental health support. It’s called the Selfling Teen Support Foundation. I picked up this course because I wanted to learn some new skills that might be able to help me build more offerings in the future for vulnerable youth. I had the app work contracted but I really want to pick up some skills to help it along. This course looks like a mixture of hard work and fun so I’m pumped. Thank you Ben and Brice for creating it!

Hello from Minnesota, Usa!

My name is Elliot Ziemann and I am currently a freshman in highschool. I have been interested in computers from a young age and have always been amazed at the complexity of these machines. I recently began learing the coding language c++ and loved it at first. Eventually i stumbled across unity and was dismayed to find that it did not support c++. My first instinct was to move on to a new game engine, but i fell in love with it and eventually searched for a good program to learn. I eventually found this and gladly began my journey. I am not very far at the moment, (finished the number wizard game) but I love the language and hope to begin creating original games soon!

Good luck to you and I hope all goes well.

Hi all!

I’m Jon, and I just started the Unity course. I’ve enjoyed coding for most of my life as a hobby, from the very first games I made in QBASIC as a kid, to some freelance web development I do now when I’m not busy with my day job.

I’m totally new to Unity and C#, but a lifelong lover of games of all kinds. My goal is to develop games for a living. I’m looking forward to learning as much as I can and hopefully publishing my first game that other people will actually play.

Take care!

Hello everyone!
I’m Shivank and I’ve just enrolled in the course. I am an avid gamer and recently completed Witcher 3 Blood and Wine DLC. I know I won’t be creating games of such scale just after this course, but I do believe that this course will give me a good insight to how a game developer should approach the challenges he/she faces during development. Really excited to hop on with everyone in this journey and learn a lot.

Happy programming! (and gaming  )

Hello Everyone,

My name is Cameron and I’m from the UK. I’m 16 and currently in college studying Chemisty, Physics and Computer Science. I am programming in my Computer Science lessons but it is useless. If you know the programming language VB then you know what I mean. I’m also teaching myself HTML and CSS for web coding. I am a HUGE gamer (Steam account: http://steamcommunity.com/id/Camzon77). So I thought it would be good to learn another programming language which could lead onto a great career. Honestly, I would prefer to become a game developer rather than web designer but they are both good careers.

The games that I’m going to try to make are open world story games as I have been very creative since I was young and also this would be a great challenge for me.

So that’s about it. Hi!

Hey.
My name is Lewis, I’m 16 and from the UK. I am currently in a game design course but I figured the extra work would help. I have done coding in python before and used to use a website called sploder for making basic games but not much practical experience in making games so I would like to start as I have wanted to for a while
