Unreal Multiplayer C++ - Hamachi Security

Just some feedback for the course I would let people know the security risks of using Hamachi to connect to strangers’ PCs. As far as I know, Hamachi is a peer-to-peer service so you shouldn’t use it to connect to someone unless you know them.

Because it’s a direct link from your PC to theirs it leaves your computer’s security quite open.

So I wouldn’t be encouraging students to connect with other students.

It has been a while since I used hamachi but don’t you limit it to specified ports?

You are right of course but it would need someone to target the community specifically. Sharing with anyone you don’t know is generally not a good idea. That would include illicit downloads and torrents as well, something as a developer I find disgusting anyway.
