It’s still a work in progress and a very high poly model, but I couldn’t resist taking a quick preview. Troll skin material made quickly using noise and ambient occlusion. For now, I’m doing manual retopology and when I finish the whole thing, I will send the final version with animation
He had good years but recently has had trouble finding enough Hobbits to eat!
Very nice character Ogre/Ork.
Close to what I used to look like, lol!
Very nice work indeed - highly detailed =)
Haha funny, I didn’t think of that. Thanks
Oh, this is fantastic. I love the sense of weight and drape in the fat folds, and the tendons in the feet, The face is also fantastic. He looks a little like a bat! I can’t wait to see him in motion.
Thank you, I’m glad to hear it I had one bat in my references, but I didn’t use it much. I imagined it was an ogre/troll who lives in a cave, it’s dark so his eyes aren’t too big, but he has big ears, just like a bat I wanted to make him have a little developed forehead and nose, a bit like monkeys, unfortunately it makes him look a bit like me a pig
I’m not going to complain xD I love a good pig adjacent orc. I love the thought you put into his environment and how his species would have adapted to the conditions. That’s some wonderful visual storytelling.
The mass and bulk are well portrayed. I like the facial features, too.
So this is the finished ogre I textured it in substance painter. I would probably add some poly to the shoulders as they seem angular. Have a good day.
The 1m squares really add to the story of the final image; I’m half-expecting a 1m d20 to fall from the ceiling like a boulder =)
I also made a version with just normal soil, but I decided that the grid was more convincing to me and added something extra to the portfolio look
This looks great. The dark hide and its facial features set it off well.
This is an excellent model! Really well done. Great details. My only concern is your hands for animating - you said you are planning to animate this, and if you plan on also animating the hands, the curled up pose may cause some extra difficulty when adding the bones to the hands.
Absolutely great!!!
