Thoughts on Handedness

It seems many people taking this course already studied calculus in school, to which I did not. Wrapping my head around right-handed vs left-handed coordinate systems was a bit of a challenge.

Luckily I have some experience with 2D game design so 3D position coordinates weren’t too hard to grasp. For rotation though, after reading up a bit, the “pinning the clock” analogy made a lot more sense since at first I was fairly lost. Also the difference between rotation and orientation is still confusing, and how they apply to the different coordinate systems. I’m hoping that this course will delve a little into the difference between Euler coordinates vs Quaternion coordinates in Unity scripting. Seems I’ve got more reading to do…
