Everyone’s ideas looks awesome. Even though we had two weeks I didn’t get to put in the time I wanted into mine, however I feel I should post what I was working on. Maybe next time I will be able to do more.
Wow. This is amazing.
Awesome! I love how you have done the rocks! Also this eerie atmosphere is really nice!
Cheers, Jax
Of course i like to tell you
I firstly made a big long sphere, then i used the cell fracture on it. Next it was a combination of Displacement, Subsurf, Decimate, Subsurf, Bevel and Subsurf modifiers ^^. But only for the third Subsurf use Catmull Clark. Hope this helps

It’s destruction of a mesh object, see lessons 10 VFX.
Thats really stunning!
All of these works are amazing! How long does it take to get this good?
It always depends on the purpose and how much time you are willing to devote to learning, in addition to studying you need such projects - an element of competition, pushing you to tackle something new, in the beginning it will not be so beautiful, but in due course there will be a result, with proper approach to the process, that and provides this course.
And then, as they say, real training is just beginning) At the end (which is not that) there must always be some goal, it strongly motivates as well as enthusiasm, also a theory without practice is nothing.
This can probably be applied to any field of study - like drawing, programming, etc. You study the interface / program, tools, and then you begin to solve real problems.
3D as well as the programming language - you need to know the basics to master the others, which is given easier than from scratch. This is also applicable to 3d - the principles alone, different tools.
I hope that I was able to convey my thoughts, I apologize in advance for errors)

"I use to pratice 4 to 10 hours a day for like a year when I’ve first started learning 3D and made a lot of progress. Today I work 8 to 10 hours per day while freelancing but I work on very different fields even if they’re all 3D related.
If you want to progress and already k’ow the basic, try to find appealing concept art and make them 3D. Finish your projects even if you’re not satisfied along the road. I see to many people starting projects and stop because they get lasy and bored… this is where you can make the difference by being resilient.
Creating in 3D is a general process and it has been the same for years. New tools won’t make you a better artist but will give you the possibilities to get further and faster.
Finaly, post your work on forums to get feedback and who knows, get featured in magazines one day

An how Michael says - there is no shortcuts…
Hi Alexander. Thanks for sharing. I looked at some of your works and they are pretty cool. How long are you using blender?
I spend quite some studying (maybe around 40-60 hours per week), but my time is divided between learning blender, c#, unity, gimp.
I know it would be better to concentrate on just one thing, but I not there yet, still exploring what I can do, and to be honest, I am loving them all so far.
I am getting better and I am really curious how much time does it take to get good. Your reply helps. Thanks very much
I’ll keep investing my time and entering a competition of sorts is a very good idea. I just found out recently, there is always something on gamedev.tv. I will try and participate once I finish Mike’s course.
Thanks, man.
