Snow Deformation is super "cool" effect

I must say, I did’t expect to go from white blob particle system to go to snow deformation. Amazing!

Also this course is super hard… I couldn’t do any of the challanges from the moss part and snow part :(.
Although I hope, after this course, I could make little tweaks to apply to my project :).

Is this technique used in Horizon or Gow series?

Hey Piotr! I think in games like GOW or Horizon they are most likely doing this with a much more expensive tessellation shader, or perhaps a Parallax effect. Right now, neither of these effects are available out of the box in URP ShaderGraph. In HDRP they are though!

Off the top of my head… to get that level of detail I think we’d need to monkey around with the UV projection of the displacement texture and have the render texture camera follow the player around to maintain such high quality displacements. It’s much more complex than what we’ve done here, but I think the concept is likely basically the same.
