I don’t think I’ll be able to create my game idea, but I had fun imagining a concept for a non violent rpg. For the moment I’ll probably stick with Sam and Rick’s project.
Here is my 1.5 Page GDD for the RPG course.

Feedback and criticism would be very appreciated!
So this is my early GDD for the RPG project I want to complete whilst going through the course.
I’ve given myself until the end of the year to come up with a nicely polished 10 minute gameplay demo experience (which as of this moment would be just over half a year). Whilst I’d love to run wild with this project, and I have lots of extra ideas I’m itching to include, I know realistically that with work and other life priorities, accomplishing even this demo would be a real achievement for myself, and I’d rather aim for a really engaging tiny but complete experience that I’m genuinely proud of, then to massively overreach on an extended story and fall flat on creating anything I would want anyone to see.
Well, I guess I’ve gotta go make it now
I like the idea to explore the quest “giver” instead of the adventurer themselves. Have you played Soda Dungeon? They use a similar point of view as far as the story is concerned but the gameplay is more of an idle tapper, but they poke fun at the RPG genre really well.
This sounds fun, way to go! I’m so interested in developing and exploring games which challenge the expectations of genres: violence, obsession with wealth and making money, over-harvesting and exploiting of resources. These are themes that are blindly accepted in so many genres.
Everyone’s work is so amazing! Please folks, I want to see these projects come true one day! Don’t give up!!
Anyway here is mine!
Here’s my GDD, it’s kinda based on what i want to future rather than sticking to the course scope haha
I went a bit overboard with a few ideas, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out! Huge souls fan btw, if you couldn’t notice :).
Hey guys, I am doing a game that is like Digimon World (psx)/Pokemon crossed with Runescape. So you play as a tamer in point and click but when battle errupts you switch control to your Monster and you it to battle.
Hey guys!
I want to take the everyday life/visual novel experience from the Persona games, but replace the combat dungeons with puzzle mini games such as Sudoku.
It probably won’t be a true RPG in the end, but I’m looking forward to learn loads about quests and dialog trees and stats.
Anyway, here is my GDD for “A.I. Noir” (working title)
