It took me so long to figure out how to do this! >.< I think I got it thoughI This was fun!!
Hi all!
Here’s my plane, based on the SU-35. It took me a few tries - this is the third iteration - but I think I’m getting my head around the box-modelling concept. I found at the beginning that I wasn’t able to manipulate the wings without distorting the fuselage in unwanted ways, so in the end I modeled the wings and the tail fins separately, joined these objects to the fuselage and then bridged the edges creating new faces. Things got a bit messy around the tail-end, and there were two rogue normals, but otherwise considering I was just putting things together from primatives yesterday morning, I’m rather pleased!
Liking the way you got those props to look, and the engine.
Hello folks! My plane doesn’t even seem to come close to most of you guys but i won’t lose hope!
here is my first try at an airplane without looking it up ._.
Well next lesson it is!
Lol “overboard”… pun intended??
But in all seriousness, you went just the right amount. It looks ****** awesome!!! Great work!
For the easiest solution is when only your main object (or point/mesh/face in edit mode) is selected click “del” on your number pad (not this above your arrows) and it will atomatically center on it
Awesome job. If you will select your plane and go to edit mode, select all, and on the left panel select section Shading/UVs click recalculate (your normals are flipped on bad side) :3
Hi luckasz!
Thanks for your comment.
I checked but the normals seem to be all the right way round.
Must be the angle of the picture that makes it look wrong
Thx a lot. I had ppl around me saying “this is a beginners course lol you are going little overboard” so thought maybe I was lol. I have been working with blender off and on for a few years now, so was hoping to learn more then the tutorial’s that I watch on youtube, so far I think I’m little more then a beginner in some areas lol.
Great job, everyone! I have most enjoyed seeing how so many folks took entirely different approaches to the same challenge. Here’s my attempt:
Def no slacking here that’s an awesome ship.
Those swept down wings remind me of that episode of Killjoys, where they land their spaceship and the legs fold over and down. - probably have no idea what I’m on about
I think I’m going to enjoy letting my imagination run wild with ship designs later on
Cheers for the kind words!
I’ve not seen Killjoys unfortunately, not sure if it aired in the UK. I like this sort of design though, I guess what I was imagining in my head was something along the lines of a Pelican from Halo or a Valkyrie from Warhammer 40k.
I too am looking forward to going nuts with some more sci-fi type stuff. I’d like to try my hand at creating a mech, perhaps when we’ve gotten into rigging and stuff!
Funny challange!
Here are my two plains (low-poly models + models with subdivision subsurfase modifyer.
This looks epic!
