Score won't update when loading from start scene

For seemingly no reason the score will not update if I start from main menu but if I start from level 1 then it will update both main menu and level 1 but no game over. But if I move the reset game method in the level script to the load level 1 method then starting the main menu will allow the score to persist throughout main menu and level 1 but game over will still shows 0!!

I think I’m actually losing my mind. I’ve been stuck on the tail end of this course for days and I find myself slowly losing my grip on the concepts that I’ve learned… I thought I was doing exceedingly well because I was acing the challenges and getting ahead of the problems but now these issues are cropping up whenever I try to do the most basic thing in unity and it’s driving me mad. I tried everything and I just can’t figure out the issue.

Hi Xarce,

Please note, it’s better to copy/paste your code and apply the code fencing characters, rather than using screenshots. Screenshots are ideal for displaying specific details from within a game engine editor or even error messages, but for code, they tend to be less readable, especially on mobile devices which can require extensive zooming and scrolling.

You also prevent those that may offer to help you the ability to copy/paste part of your code back to you with suggestions and/or corrections, meaning that they would need to type a potentially lengthy response. You will often find that people are more likely to respond to your questions if you make it as easy as possible for them to do so.

Are there any error messages in your console? Have you already compared your code to the Lecture Project Changes which can be found in the Resources of this lecture? And have you already rewatched the video at least one more time?
