Sand Sculpture material in Blender 3.6

Hi all,

A few people are having problems recreating the Sand Sculpture material in Blender 3.6, where even the project file looks different from what is shown in the video:

I’ve played around with the file, and this seems to be an issue with the textures being plugged into the Bump nodes. The result is that the Bump node effects are too strong.

To get a closer look to what is shown in the video (and earlier Blender versions), you can reduce the Strength of the Bump nodes. I found that these values worked quite well:

The result is not perfect, but it is much closer to what’s shown:

You can play around with the Bump nodes until you get something you like.

Hope that helps if you get stuck!

Thank you very much for the tip :)!
I tweaked the distance values too. This is what worked for me in the end:

Yes, more recent version of blender (3.6+) have tweaked something in the way that bump nodes layer themselves, and a couple of the shaders don’t quite look the same. I actually failed to find a good setting in 4.0 Beta for that node using just daisy chained bump nodes, and reverted back to using mix nodes, but the settings provided here work really well, well done Myn and Devviktoria for figuring it out!
