Problem when world gravity is set to zero

I’ve encountered a problem when I set the world gravity to zero, and that’s that if a ball bounces sideways off one of the walls and there is nothing else in the way horizontally, it will simply ping back and forth between the two walls forever and never have a chance to return to my paddle, breaking the game. Any idea what we can do about this? Thanks!
