Please help! (Importing into Unity)

Everytime i upload a mesh to unity, it appears at a offset below to object and i don’t know why this is. They are in the same space in blender. Does anyone either know how to import it so that this won’t happen or how to change it’s offset once already imported into unity?

Does this help? I’m not familiar with Blender yet I’m afraid…

Hey, make sure that the origin is at the same place, the orage dot. This is what outside programs will use as reference regarding where it is

This is good information to know, thanks Johnny. Did this automatically rotate the mesh to the correct position for you?

when i did this it wasn’t about rotation, it was about position instead. Are you having a differant problem?

No not at all, was initially just trying to help you. What I vould see from your screen shot was that the mesh was inverted, so I just wondered, with Johhny’s help was it simply moving its transform and then it all lined up properly, or did you also need to rotate anything? As the screenshot suggrsts its out by 180 degrees etc.

oh right i see, yeah at first i thought it had been mirrored or something but when i looked close i realised that it had actually just been moved downwards, thank you though

Now that you have said that I can see it! I suppose with a shape like that which is similar at thr top and bottom its harder to tell. A pyramid for example may have been more obvious!

Great - I underarand too now! Thanks both

You are welcome!

Rob, the shape is different because they are different models, one is low poly made exclusively to the collider and the other one is the actual (graphical) mesh

Hey Johnny, I meant that when I first saw it I though the mesh underneath the graphical one was upside down, like a mirror image of it - hence my query about the rotation. I hadn’t spotted the similarity in shape and thus your fix about moving the origin makes perfect sense.

Oh, sorry for misunderstanding that

No worries… I can imagine a situation in the future where I have the above issue and will be banging my head against the wall for ages, this is handy
