First post! I had a go before really seeing what Mike did, and I was basing it off this toy google image search:

Ended up with a weird tail I didn’t bother to fix, and the UV sphere isn’t really attached to the plane, but I did do the body and the propellers purely using extrude and tweaking faces / verts. Quite fun!

I think that building things up from just 1 or 2 meshes is a great way to go about things. It seems like you run into fewer problems later on.
