when solving the challenge, Instead of setting alignment for each button, I used a Vertical group and padding, is this going to come up with something worse later on?

Do this however you want to and feel happy doing it. As long as you achieve the desired outcome, this is absolutely fine. I’m pretty sure I added into a vertical group for this very reason. There are pros and cons to each approach, mainly ease of moving and grouping vs flexibility of positioning individual controls.
I should also say that your menu can look different too, as long as you have the buttons to do what is needed.
