Hi all,
My name is Kenneth Soerensen and I live in a small town called Grimstad on the beautiful south-cost of Norway. I am an 81 model, making me at the time of writing 35 years old, but never too old to learn new things.
I am a passionate and creative hobby programmer with a strong focus on pragmatism and simplicity. I started programming in the early 90’s when the introduction to internet for common people and making web content was the new hot thing. From this start, the journey went through QBASIC, VB (Visual Basic) and then PHP in 2003. Since this time the journey have taken me through Java, JavaScript, C, Objective-C, C++, Python and C# where I use most of my times now days. I have never worked as a professional programmer, nor would state that I am anywhere near to be able to call me a professional programmer. Just love to code as my hobby, and love to learn new tricks and stuff.
I have a deep love for web programming and uses most of my spare time programming on various web projects of interests. Or learning new technologies and trying to keep up with all that is happening in the web development areas. However, for the last few years I have gotten an interest for game development/programming using Unity. I have all the courses Ben have put out on Udemy, and loved the Unity course.
In my day to day work I work with certifying products against national and international rules and regulations, however a lot of the time is spent on implementing various systems like SharePoint, Dynamic AX, Document Management system and Enterprise Content Management systems. This involves a lot of web based development and an eye for systems, structure and finding the best solutions. As you probably understand I love systems and IT.
And just for the fun of it I run my own MS Office 365 E3 Enterprise, Project Online, Visual Studio Team Services and Azure. I love to play, test and break to see what is possible. You can say I am a MS fan boy. However, I love my MacBook Pro, and iPhone and nothing can replace it.
I love the work @ben have done, and are doing with the courses and GameDev.tv since the lunch of the Unity course. And are a Kickstarter supporter on the Unreal and RPG course. I was too late on the other Kickstarter’s from Ben, unfortunately. It is very inspiring to see what Ben have achieved so fare, and how he has built his company.
I am really looking forward to the follow along with the RPG course in Unity, and hope to learn a lot. I am not an artist, and will not even try to pretend to be. It there opens any opportunity to contribute on other areas, like coding I would jump on it I if feel I have anything to contribute with. Anyway, it would be fun.
Cheers, and have a lot of fun all!!
