Does it bother anyone else that Ben didn’t use the Right Hand Rule?
When talking about positive and negative rotation of course!
Not really. Since Unity uses the left hand system, we kinda have to as well - you could still use the right hand rule, but you’d have to inverse the rotations that you get from it.
This is my first time wrapping my head around the 3d space, is the right-hand rule more common in 3d programs? Or are you referring to its relation to electromagnetism?
I was referring to the mathematical convention, so electromagnetism definitely falls into that category! It took me a while to realize that the coordinate system in Unity is different from the normal cartesian system and it definitely is left hand based! I thought he was trying to define positive and negative rotation in the video, so I definitely didn’t get the message at first haha
