I’ve updated my project to a point where I think I need to continue on with my lessons in order to further improve. Previous (inferior) Version
vX.X changelog:
- Added a shield power up (it also blocks you from picking up other powerups (yay!);
- Added a fire rate power up (I have yet to learn coroutines (and this is the reason I’ll be moving on), you can’t change fire rate on the fly when invoke repeating so you’d have to let go of the fire button and press it again to activate it and vice versa);
- Added new enemy formations (no new enemies);
- Added a wave system that progressively increases the difficulty (sends out harder enemy formations);
Known issues:
- Shield doen’t shield 100% (because colliders within colliders and the update function);
Known issues you couldn’t possibly know:
- All the “one shot” particle systems stay alive once instantiated (even though the enemy is destroyed), after a wave or two there’s a hilariously long list in the game hierarchy.
In addition, I thought I’d share all the sprites I’ve made for this project. Feel free to use it however you see fit, if you do, a shout out, even though not required, would be nice

I’m sure I’ll revisit this project in the future when I’m finishing up the course, look forward to the vY.Y “They come from the hills” expansion pack.
