Looking how to quickly select the entire model inorder to remove double verticies faster and was not sure how that was done in the lecture.
I think that he pressed “a” to deselect the one vertex that he had selected and then pressed “a” again to select all vertices.
Red is correct with “A” being used to fully de/select objects and meshes.

Another Method that is situational, useful, but tricky:
I think you might learn later is with Merge Distance in the Operations Menu. If you have only the one vertex selected and you check “Unselected” in the Remove Doubles operations menu, you can scale up the number slowly to merge the selected vertex to the closest vertex near it.
^^(( Don’t worry about this too much now until it shows up in the lectures. ))^^

vv(( Recommended, in my opinion, for complex meshes ))vv
Another shortcut key you can press which I have come to love is the “L” key when you hover your cursor over a mesh. It selects all the linked parts to the area you are hovering over with your cursor.
For example: While in Edit Mode if you have 3 separate cubes, pressing “A” will select all of them. But if you hover your mouse over one and press “L,” it will select that single cube only.
This is very useful when you are dealing with complex objects with many parts that are “separate” from each other while working in Edit Mode.
i had the same question! thanks for the response “Red”
