How do I make the rocket feel less floaty?

Now that we’ve dealt with most of the movement settings, I still can’t find a way to make the rocket feel how I want it to. It feels very floaty, which I don’t really want, because we can only rotate or thrust, so if it floats too high, then it’s annoying to get the rocket back down again. I want the rocket to thrust upwards kind of fast, but also fall back down quite fast. I’ve applied most of Rick’s settings to my own rocket, but his seems much better to control.

It’s like I need high gravity so that the rocket falls fast, but by adding higher gravity, it also makes the rocket harder to get off the ground. If I could give a comparison, if you can imagine something like flappy bird where the bird flies up quickly but also falls quite quickly, I feel like that’s what I want. It’s almost like you need to disregard/disable the gravity for the rocket while thrusting and only reactivate it once it’s stopped thrusting. Is this the right thinking to implement that sort of movement?

Hi,

You could try to increase the mass in the Rigidbody component to see if that improves the behaviour. In the Physics Settings, you could decrease the y-gravity. Maybe set it to -20 for testing purposes.
