Hey everyone!
I am proud to present my student’s first semester of work in Game Programming & Design, a High School class in Texas: http://bit.ly/GPDPortfolio. We would love for you all to play these games! Use Firefox or Chrome for the best experience, although Microsoft Edge also works. This portfolio represents four months of hard work and dedication. Four games per student were created over the following timelines:
• 4 weeks of preparation and exploration on general Game Design topics
• 2 weeks for a text-based adventure (Text101)
• 2 weeks for a number guessing game with a GUI (Number Wizard UI)
• 4 weeks for a Breakout clone (Block Breaker)
• 4 weeks for a Galaga clone (Laser Defender)
Each game was created from scratch using the Unity game engine and of course, Ben’s popular Unity course. During the remainder of the year, students will be working in groups to create a complete Tower Defense game of their own design, using Glitch Garden as a base, and publish it to the Android Play Store. The biggest compliment you can give these kiddos is to play their game at the above link, rate it, and leave some feedback! If you are unable to sign-up for itch.io, please feel free to send me your comments and I will let them know. Thank you to @ben for allowing us to use his course in the classroom, and a special thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way so that I could help my students be successful. @Rob @Joao_Dalvi @Rivaldragon @OboShape @Mike @Galandil
