Death State

Hello,
I was wondering if it would be easier and better to just play a dead animation and turn off the Animator and Character Collider for an enemy or the Player?

You can play a death animation instead of doing a Ragdoll if you wish. Turning off the Animator might be a problem, but once you play the Death state, leaving it on won’t matter. I always turn off the CharacterController whether I use a DeathAnimation, a Ragdoll, or a hybrid between the two.
