Completed the free Blender Robot Creation for Beginners course by CG Boost.
Good course to get starting, or a refresher.
Added a 9V battery fly to it, so the frog has a reason to jump.
Btw, if someone knows how to solve this ‘eye tracking’ problem, lmk >>>
- Have the eyes track the fly (this works with a constrain modifier)
- Limit the range the eyes can rotate - this piece does not work, and the eyes are locked at strange angels. Setting the coordinates to local did not fix the issue.
- I suggest the rig, which animates the eyes conflicts with the modifiers.

Awesome work! I have this course opened in a tab with plans to do it too, looks very clean.
I haven’t tried it yet, but regarding the rig issues, have you tried reordering the modifiers to see if it helps fix the potential conflict?

The course is good. I feel if someone never touched blender before, it’s still on the challenging end. Always coming back to Grant’s approach of teaching.
From what I read, the tracking constrain comes first, then the rotation constrain. I tried changing the order. Guess I’ll build a test rig and play around.
