Hi there,
I built UE4 before starting the course, so I went with the main branch (4.23.1) as opposed to 4.22

Is that fine or will it create problems down the line? Should I go back and compile 4.22?

Build timing as requested.
Dual core Intel® Pentium® CPU 3550M @ 2.30GHz
8GB memory MemTotal: 8084076 kB
68G Disk space: 68790924 ./UnrealEngine
9 hours build time

Suggest you indicate the amount of disk space required near the beginning of your lecture. Had to move data to another partition as it hit disk full before starting the build!

System specs and make build time as requested!

Started “make” at 4:20pm on 12-19-19, finished at 5:50pm 12-19-19 (total time: 1hr, 30min)

System Specs;
Core i5-7500
64GB DDR3 RAM
1TB HDD
low grade graphics card (it’s my office PC, dont judge. I only use the build on here to edit the code, then use my personal PC to test and run programs)
Ubuntu 19.10

I just want to make a suggestion. Maybe make a note on the video that you have to use the most current version of unreal. I tried making 4.22 and 4.23 and it failed. After trying 4.24 it finally starting making.

Started my make at 12:11 am and finished at 2:17 am. So it took 2 hours and 6 mins to make.I just wish I didn’t do it so late because i was falling asleep in the middle of it. But i wanted to see it through!

Operating System: Kubuntu 19.10
KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.62.0
Qt Version: 5.12.4

OS Type: 64-bit
Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i5-8250U CPU @ 1.60GHz
Memory: 15.5 GiB of RAM
Intel integrated graphic card

Installation time 11:46 -> 13:43

However, UE doesn’t work, I tried with and without -opengl

The system gets stuck here:

I’ll try to fix and will post the solution.

This can take minutes. Just wait.

had to run make ShaderCompileWorker in the end, in the root directory for UE4 4.22, cause UE4Editor said it was missing upon launching. You maybe can add that to the Udemy tutorial.
