Blender knowledge specific to Unity Asset Optimization

Hello everyone,

I completed the wonderful course material by Grant on how to build the little stylized house as well as the texture painting the stylized tower and I am now beginning the complete blender creator course.

I do not plan to become a full time artist, my needs are actually centered around changing/optimizing pre-made assets that I use in my Unity projects. For example, I need to find ways to create texture atlasses and make each gameobject use 1 material and also create lower poly versions to use in LOD’s in Unity.

I wanted to ask the community what are some key features/topics that I need to familiarize myself with in Blender for this specific purpose and if there are any particular resources (both in gamedev tv and outside) that they can recommend for a unity specific use of Blender as described above.

There is some sort of course on the lines you mention in production. No idea as to time fame to being available though.
