Great Theme! I hacked the school computer for real in high school, but I limited myself to looking at grades. Seems like actually changing them was somehow cheating… I guess that is exactly what it would have been.

My theme is things that my son would enjoy hacking:

  1. My old High School - Biology, Chemistry, Geometry, History, Theater, Choir
  2. Rooster Teeth - RWBY Chibi, Dunkleman, Lindsay, Valkyrie, Wukong
  3. NORAD - Cheyenne Mountain, War Games, Air Defense, Whopper, Joshua

I’m not sure if the code will handle the spaces. If not, then I’ll refactor on the fly.

My theme’s are going to give a little nod to the Movie War Games

with levels as such:

High School Administration: Pencil, Double, History, Chair, and Desk
PAN AM: Flight, runway, Airport, Paris, and Taxi
W.O.P.R: Nuclear, Global, Bomber, Guerrilla and Joshua

As you can see a lot of nods to the movie. :sunglasses:

Nice! Joshua was my easter egg. It brings up a menu similar to the film.

Hi all,

Here’s my movie studios theme (partly inspired by the fact that Sony Pictures was a real life victim to an infamous recent hack):

  • [Easy] Disney Pixar: mouse, ears, dumbo, nemo, cars
  • [Medium] Sony Pictures: skyfall, smurfs, grudge, robocop, hellboy
  • [Hard] Lucasfilm: skywalker, chewbacca, lightsaber, stormtrooper, millennium

Howdy Folks!

Here’s my shopping themes, got hungry while thinking about a medium theme.

Easy (Grocery Store): fruit, aisle, deli, cashier, organic
Medium (Pizza Chain): pizzeria, calzone, lasagna, pepperoni, cheesesteak
Hard (Online Store): electronically, paperless, authentication, automatic, convenient

I used Physics as the theme for my hard words as well.

Using a school grading system as the hacking target is clever, makes it feel like there is an actual system there.

I think it can handle the spaces, but it might make it harder overall, since the space counts as a character, so the player will have to insert the space in the correct location.

They can still do it but they will need to figure out that it’s two words and they most likely will try looking for one word. Might be better to keep it consistent, unless you tell the player that some are two words.

Also, thought Joshua might have been the name of your son. I was reminded of the movie when I read “War Games” but it’s been so long since I’ve seen that movie. :stuck_out_tongue:

I was going for some sort of sci-fi theme…

  • Station Network
    star
    dock
    cargo
    orbit
    solar

  • Satellite Network
    jupiter
    andromeda
    galaxy
    nebula
    signal

  • Central Core Archives
    disseminate
    involvement
    coordinate
    investigate
    activation

Excellent point. Consistency is good. Hope to finish the game tomorrow. I’ll see how it plays and then may adjust to remove multiple words answers.

Like your themes, and they make sense. Everyone knows continents, and there are only seven of them. Rivers are known but only the big ones and then no one ever cares about Mountains enough to remember their names.

Though I think Mississippi will be easy to guess, just because it’s the only thing ever with that many s’s i’s and p’s.
