If i press f12, or go to the menu: Render->Render image, I can see a progress bar appearing at the bottom of the window, and I think it renders, but nothing happens. The rendered image is not shown, like it is in the video. I have to go to the rendering tab, and then press f12, to see the rendered image.

Has it opened up in a separate window?

Love the ship in the background

No, it does not open a seperate window.

What was the last build of Blender you downloaded?

It was 2.80 alpha2 from Aug. 30th 2018.
Important sidenote: I’m on Ubuntu 16.04, so it might only be a problem specific to Ubuntu.

It work fine for me try upgrading Ubuntu to the latest version I only have one problem is that circle select witch ever I chose first it end stay with it and I have to do circle select again to the other one select or diselect

Do you have a render tab at the top of the alpha 2 install.
They changed the UI in alpha 2 so that you have a render tab at the top and it does not open in a new window

In windows it doesn’t open automatically at the moment. I’m just clicking on the render tab at the top.

I guess the UI will change quite often while in beta.

Carry on.

Hi!

Have you tried:
Menu->Render->Display Mode->New Window
(or anything else than “Keep User Interface”, really…)

Thank you all for your replies!

I think i like mine in the new tab so its a preference choice for me

But there are times when i do want to detach my render window which this will help.

Thanks Mikey

Here’s my take! I was having fun and spent too much time on it, but I think I went overboard with the lights, not liking them so much right now.
