Figuring out (experimenting) and testing the materials requires a lot of fiddling. Once you have something, it has to change because the scene is going in a different direction.
And then there is the race against the clock, where you try to make it somewhat modular or simply copy and adapt it.
Great effect!

I like how you said “just” extruded like nes for the tentacles. That’s a lot of points and a lot of lines so it must have taken a lot of time
. And the ooze is super cool!

Video test run
304 frames, did some camera movement.
The candle flicker is a bit too strong.

Looks bloody fantastic! Sure, the flicker is extreme, as you noted, but this still looks incredible. Great job on this.

@mfortunato , congratulations on your atmospheric and funny rendition of a cozy dungeon. A nice twist on the subject, for which many others came up with a “Standard” production.
- RayMobula - Very Sci-Fy and mysterious. I do miss some “Dungeon” reference
- FedPete - My first big project on a new machine and Blender 5.x - Love the new features on the array modifier (randomness). Struggled a bit on the composition and lighting.
- Crisus - I had the same idea (window, moon light). And decided to do a sort of diorama. No need to create a room as such. But a place to create and add assets, etc.
Note: I don’t want to offend anyone. I try to write down positive ideas and visions in my simple use of the English language. I am also sometimes more inspired by a particular subject or solution. I’m also learning from you!
Haha - I get it.
Some context - I intentionally did not go for the castle, LOTR style dungeon, etc. but for a concept of what a dungeon is - a dark chamber used to confine prisoners.
All good.
