It looks a nice message from Huzzi, but it’s website is pointing to a commencial one.
It is not logic to copy a message and write a LLM message below it.

Here’s my current status. It’s still a work in progress, though. I still have a lot to adjust and improve. The main trunk isn’t quite right yet, and the environment is completely missing. I find the topic very challenging but also interesting.

This week I’m trying out a different rendering style
WIP

Still brainstorming about the background but I’m going to try and keep it simple

This is the outline layer which was a bit of a lucky find ^^

Final result

The patch of grass blades gave me a lot of trouble I just spend the last hour trying to get it to display the shadows of the surrounding objects. Turns out I “flipped” a connection in my shader which caused it to behave strangely. So I guess that is my biggest takeaway this week “how to troubleshoot your shaders”

So I took the advice of Wolfguardian and picked up a pencil. Hadn’t used one in quite a while. In my spare time, tried using it for idea generation;
usually, I do that with primitive shapes. Still, using a pencil was fun and a nice reminder of how it feels. I’ll definitely do this more often. I did three drawings, but by the time I got home, I’d lost one.

At home, I tried to repaint chosenone on a bigger paper sheet, but that didn’t go well, so I’ll keep that for myself.

3D scene:

Updated the final look a bit: reduced the amount of leaves on the ground (it felt tiring to look at) and fixed some minor issues I hadn’t noticed before.

Love the concept and the render.

Good to see that you picked up the pencil and brush again :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: It does not matter if the traditional painting did not turn out the way you hoped if you enjoyed the process it can spark more ideas and maybe it helped with the color choice or other parts of the final piece ^^

Here’s my final draft, I hope you like it. I’ve worked on the environment a bit more and added a few details here and there. I look forward to further contributions and feedback. Have a nice weekend, everyone.

I tried to build my own textures, the maple leaf is my own from substance designer, the bark and ground textures are from actual photos that I made during our vacation while biking through the forest
Only on my slow laptop, so not sure I can tweak the final render before end of submission, here my current status:

My laptop almost burnt, but here my final render

We @BlenderCollab have a few days to vote. You can vote fast but also think slowly about design, colors, technique, difficulty, subject, realism, etc. Choose consciously and not on your entry.
The new subject week 43 “Songs” has already started. The winner of this week’s “Autumn (trees/leaves)” challenge may select a subject for next week 44 and win a badge.

@etikque , congratulations on your submission. Beautiful use of autumn colors. The lighting is strange, though. The sun makes the scene dark, but the light is also coming from the front and should be soft.

  • gallmerci - Nice composition. Add a bit more detail (Mushrooms)
  • Srl1 - Great detailed scene. The house’s construction could be more playful. Less blocky or angular. A deformation modifier could help with this.
  • Wolfguardian - I like your color usage. I do think the trees looks the same. Rotation on the z-ax could solve that.

Note: I don’t want to offend anyone. I try to write down positive ideas and visions in my simple use of the English language. I am also sometimes more inspired by a particular subject or solution. I’m also learning from you!
