2025 Collab: Week 12 “Create a (video) game character” - VOTE CLOSED

But his drink will leak out of the mouth! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I thought the idea would be either trying to create a functioning game-viable character OR to create a model/scene/render image of an existing video game character. Whatever makes people happy should be great!

@sezpul I cannot WAIT to see that Shake* (I’m so tired) finished! I loved ATHF

I mean, everything you said is right. I just tried to make things simpler, but that probably caused more misunderstandings than I expected (dumb me ).

might be a fun edit

haha thanks, bro. Same. ATHF is the bomb. Master Shake is the greatest cartoon character of all time.

Not fully feeling the eyes. I don’t think they need to have that much depth. Thinking of just shaping a plane, and then having a pupil that is separate vertices and moving it with shape keys. If it works I might add eyelids too

You folks are killing it. These are looking wonderful. Can’t wait to see the finished results. Great work, all!

Here is my entry, I went with a fantasy rpg adventurer/knight character. He is fully rigged and has animations made, pointlessly now that I think about it

10k quads, and a single texture material for game optimization, so more pointless details I suppose!

Edit: Just wanted to post a second image with a old school rts look

From what I see, you did a great job! Nothing is pointless - you can always reuse it in future projects. Plus, going that extra mile always feels good.

Just as a reminder I will select, by default, the last image upload in the tread for the final vote. Be sure it’s the correct one!

My face after trying weight painting for the first time.

(Note: I did not do the background render, it is awesome though)

I suppose this will be my submission. I did not do the background. This does not really fit the theme but was fun anyway. I learned a bit about shape keys and animating them but I think I prefer rigging it. I had a hard time with weight painting since the eyes were separate and had a hard time doing the trackto constraint without having to weight paint it manually and I really had a hard time with it.

I like that I thought of runescape within the first millisecond of seeing it. good job.

It actually fits the theme perfectly. Nicely done!

Okay. In my head, everything looked much better, but anyway, here it goes. These are more like NPC characters. Little backstory:
Long ago, an advanced civilization thrived on Zephor, a planet rich in powerful crystals - an ancient energy source that fueled their technology. Over time, their world fell into ruin, leaving behind only remnants of their once-great creations.

Among the survivors were the Cryzors, robotic creatures designed to harness and protect crystal energy. As time passed, they became completely dependent on it, carrying crystal staffs to sustain themselves. With no organic life left on Zephor, the Cryzors wander the ruins, searching for more energy to keep themselves active.

Accompanying them are the Whizzers, small, flying robots that act as loyal assistants. These creatures have no built-in power source - instead, they survive by serving a master. They follow their bonded Cryzor everywhere, helping with daily tasks in exchange for energy.

I like the Wall-E head and that you have a backstory along with some functionality/gimmicks for the game

Thanks. Actually, in the end, that head gave me a bit of disappointment. It felt out of place on a massive body, but on the other hand, all body looks strange. So at least people will have a good laugh.

I didn’t come as far as I wanted but here is my submission:

This is my mechanic Bugsie, he is a too-good-natured boy for a plants-vs-bugs gardening game, but this is the idea :smiling_imp:.
