2025 Collab: Week 02 “Speeders” - V O T I N G

This is the Blender Collaboration 2025, week 02 challenge. Don’t be afraid to join, a lot of us are beginners. This is all to practice, have fun, learn, and get together.

This week’s subject is “Speeders”.

  • Speeders - Who has not seen any fancy fast vehicles floating and zigzagging around in games, movies, or comics? They look so fast, maneuverable, and easy to park! Well, show your idea for a speeder of any size and in any style. The only request is that it looks fast !
  • Subject selected by the previous Week 52, 2024 “ My favorite present " winner Megane_Wang

The rules are simple. 1 subject, 1 entry, 1 week.
You create whatever object or scene or whatever you can think of that has something to do with the subject. It can be as simple or complicated as you want, all entries are welcome!
Post your picture here in this thread. At the end of the week, we start to vote. And if you are the winner, you may choose the next subject and win a unique badge.

Deadline: 2025-01-11T22:55:00Z

Your 2D concept art is always top-notch and has lots of character. Looking forward to seeing the final 3D design :).

Spent just a little time throwing this together, Fed’s drawings reminded me of a concept my partner and I put together last year. I’ve got a little scene in my head I’ll try to put together for this week’s challenge.

I was starting to consider skipping this challenge since I was not in best terms with inspiration. Lucky for me yesterday morning, a friend sent me a DeLorean toy picture and I came up with an idea.

Here’s the DeLorean inspiration, I started working with straight lines and wings that change position.

Changed the lighting, changed the paint details and added a handle bar

I don’t know how DeLorean led to this but it looks really good :+1:
It gives off Star Wars vibes to me, between the lighting and the angular design.

Work did not allow for much time but I would like to participate anyway, so here comes my speeder:

This is funny! All speeders point in the same direction. And share the same sort-of angle.

In western animation, moving from right to left is interpreted as a negative thing. Because we read from left to right.

That’s funny. And yes, I don’t know whether it’s exactly negative, but even if the character is moving ahead, the first impression is that it is returning or going back. :woman_shrugging:
