I’ve spent many years using graphics applications and IDEs etc without learning many of the shortcut keys, putting it off from the start thinking it’s something I’ll come back to when I’m more of an expert. My conclusion is that best practice is to learn as many of them as possible from the start and integrate them into your workflow straight away. It’s not necessary to completely memorise all of them, but at least being exposed to them in the lectures means you know the basic processes and can start learning the most useful ones while always remembering to integrate more as you proceed. There’s always the Keyboard Shortcuts pdf to refer back to for those moments where you think “I know they showed me a quick way of doing this, but can’t remember the exact keys”.
