Cant put the factor to zero on mix RGB. Maybe because I’m using a different blender.

Difficult to see or understand what you are trying to achieve.

Per island as a color input …?
In Blender you can connect anything to anything. But the results can be very confusing.
Try to connect dots of the same color! Then you know they contain the same META information.

Also Eevee and Cycles do use different render calculations. Not all (internal) info is available for Cycles and or Eevee. In the past ‘worn edges’ wasn’t possible in Eevee, not sure if this is still te case for the newest ersions of Blender.

“Worn edges”, work on the concept of angles of two faces. 180 degr. is flat, 90degr is sharp, etc. This info is used in the node setup to identify and corner (an edge).

Worn edges usually uses pointiness if I recall correctly.
Check the node set up in the course. Point us to that time in the lecture so those willing to help have a reference point.

Now there is “Random Per Island” on the bottom of Geometry node. And I see this one is connected on the image attached, so that’s why it doesn’t work.
