Wolf standoff

This project is based on the dinosaur tutorial. I modeled the wolves the same way as the dinosaurs, just a bit more sophistically. What do you guys think?

I am not content with the project, though, because there was supposed to be a human on one side symbolizing the start of companionship between humans and dogs. I couldn’t get past the face until I finished the fundamental course, with face sculpting as the last chapter I will keep on the back burner. I can’t wait to finish it.

My advice is to finish the course, for basic Blender knowledge. Then switch over to a more character setup course.

This is a neat idea! Keep in mind that making humans is significantly more complicated, not least because we intrinsically have a much better idea of what their proportions should look like (which means you have less liberty to work with before it starts looking “off”). I would agree that the best action for the moment is to put this aside until the Low-Poly Characters course or something similar. No worries, you’ll get there soon enough =)

You are completely correct. I needed to hit a wall to realize my limitations so I know what to focus on. What do you think about the wolves and the scene itself?

Sure! I think that’s good for everybody to experience here and there =)

Looking good! The neck of the howling wolves looks slightly bowed out, probably easy to fix by adding another loopcut, but other than that it’s a fine extension of the skills learned in the dino section :+1:

Grant has a few more videos on low-poly animals on his youtube channel if you’d like to expand even further in this direction.

And you were afraid, that your wolf will look like a bear. It is absolutely not this case!!
Love the scenery for white vs grey wolves…nice big crystals.
As others say do not rush to your harder project, go through the course and get solid foundation  I will also continue with the course as soon as I finish and post my project here

Yeah, I am glad how it came out and honestly surprised. Thank you so much for your kind words. And yeah others are correct I am being a bit too ambitious way too soon into the learning process. Can’t wait to check out your project!
