I applied the same armature I had made for the cube to the ball. It worked for the ball as well without modifications.
In the animation I first played with the top and bottom armature to prevent the back stretching of the top. But at least I wasn’t satisfied with that, so that i deleted all keyframes for the top and bottom bones again and instead adjusted the scale curves of the main bone to prevent the back stretching with a better result for me.
