Why there is no Runtime UI Toolkit course?

Hi,

I was looking for using UI Toolkit for Game UIs, seems there are not a lot of courses about Runtime UI using UI Toolkit. Why is it so ? Is it not good enough or does it have limitations compared to creating UI with UGUI ?

Welcome to the community. Unity is slowly adding features to the UI Toolkit. At first it was just for editor tools. Any course they make about using it for runtime would be outdated before it is finished being recorded. The toolkit class they have on here is very helpful in seeing how the system works. And the todo list is handy to have in your projects. I hope they come out with a class for runtime when Unity is done developing the Toolkit. I have not heard of anything in the works yet.

Hi Guys,

The Unity UI toolkit course we have covers some of the features but at the time of creation the runtime items were just not in a workable state to add them into any course. It in itself became very very outdated quickly and so is no longer available for sale.
As @edc237 states any course we could make at the current time would be quickly outdated as they make constant changes and would ultimately not be a very good learning experience for our students.

Once they have got things working to a more stable level and the changes are not so major then we may look towards producing another course with the UI Toolkit which includes the runtime element but for now we wait.

All the best
Marc
